Thought - it'll be a breeze, maybe even fun to file all the notes I'd made, put them in date order and categorise them by which book they related to - wrong! Because unlike a normal person, who may have written their notes in a notebook or on whole sheets of paper so they could be placed easily into clear file pockets - many of my notes were scrapes!
Notes scribbled onto tiny bites of paper, reams inscribed on a pack of post-its, which at any point if they'd been separated, I wouldn't have know in which order they went at all! Random lines written on the back of discarded envelops, not to mention the volume of semi-drink stained and partially balled up pages which had not only every line filled to the brim, but even the margins chocker with ideas which had no decipherable order!
I've got to say I did feel a touch of hate for my pathetic filing system. Especially for a person who's normally quite organised in nearly every other aspect of her life, I found this ridiculous! Well the "quick" job I thought would take an hour tops, ended up taking my whole Sunday, and is still sat in a corner as a "Project in Progress" it's ok guys I'm sure by 2018 I might have it all sorted and have some sort of filing system in place.
Well it's either slog through it all or add it to the New Year resolution list, which is something I'd hate to do. So if that doesn't get me motivated to tidy up in the next four months - I don't know what will!
