I get this overwhelming feeling too, I think, I must get organised. So I make a list, but then out of no where that list grows, and grows and before I know it I have a whole plethora of tasks to complete, but with very little time in which to get them done!
I think we speed through things because we feel an ever increasing pressure build upon us from being the go-getter at work, the awesome friend always up for a laugh, the perfect family member who always puts their family first, and the loving partner who is always there and supportive to their significant other. But with all these balls in the air, with so much to do and what feels like very little time to do it in, our stress levels are astronomical, and our schedules have never been fuller.
So what do we do, clear them out completely, tell everyone to leave you alone and just concentrate on you, and you alone, of course not! That's the other extreme of the spectrum, but I do feel we've lost the art of slowing down, switching off and just plain finding time to just relax!
